Buongiorno Regazzi
Well, it is wet and windy here in the Chianti Hills. This morning we dropped down to Certaldo market (mercato) to buy plants, however, our lovely plant signora had not turned up because of the rain (pioggia) so we went to Poggibonsi (hope I’m not confusing you) instead and bought a new toilet seat. We now have a seat that is plastic but resembles white marble with grey streaks to match the bathroom. Very Italian! meanwhile, In our favourite bakery (panetteria), the Italians are buying big cross shaped cakes and copious amounts of bread for the festive weekend. It is a time for family and friends to get together to eat, drink, talk and fall asleep at the table.
The Pope (Il papa) has been washing the feet on the undeserving and the georgeous Silvio Berlasconi is on the hustings again and we don’t deserve that. The guy who got the most votes, the not so gorgeous Sig Bersani (no hair inplants just a shiny brown pate), has been asked to form a government, but commented that only someone mentally ill would want to run the country now!
Did you pick up on that lovely story from the US of A, about the caretaker of an empty mansion, who drank fifty two bottles of well-aged prohibition whisky owned by his employer? They reckon it was worth over $100,000! He claimed it wasn’t him but got caught out by DNA testing! Party over…this made me laugh out loud during a hectic working week!
I must get to work on finishing the printed lyrics for my Rock Concert in June. Stefano, my lead guitarist and mentor has given me instructions to mark in any instrumentals to be included and to decide which songs need a key change to match my own. The problem is, I have blocked ears at present and cannot hear myself sing! For some this would probably be a blessing, including my man, but for me it’s bloody difficult. So I’ve been filling the left ear with extra virgin olive oil as it cures most things.
Have a really great Easter (Festa di Pasqua), break out the Prosecco and see you next Saturday.
Ciao June x
