Benvenuti to all my lovely Loyal and New Followers
I must admit to feeling a little out of sorts over the last few days and may have picked up a bug brought back from England by my man. I very nearly failed to send you a blog this week, which would never do.
Then I received an email this morning from a friend and neighbour, who had some fascinating history about our new home and I felt compelled to tell you all about it. It seems that our house, called Querceto (Oak Tree) belonged to the Oak Forest Farm, owned by the Monastery of St. John of Florence Knights in 1778! This is apparently recorded in the state archives. It’s exciting to know that it is as old as this and probably older. The front of the property does look rather like a church, whereas the rear is a complete contrast. It is nestled into the side of a hill and as I have said before, is a complete surprise when you first walk into it, as it opens out into a really big property, which from the top is not at all obvious.
Oh, yes I will just say to all those who managed to watch La Mille Miglia at the weekend, which is the annual vintage & classic car race that hurtles through Tuscany every year, I hope you had a great time. I’m sorry to have missed it. We accidentally got caught up in it one year, but that’s another story.
So that is my news and now I must go and take a rest, too much sun and wine you might say, if it was I would be perfectly happy about it, but sadly I think I am still trying to emerge from a virus.
But life eeez good, life eez now and Stefano has just sent me the repertoire for the next concert in order of play, so that’s cheered me up no end! Our first rehearsel will be on 4th June; can’t wait!
Have a great week and thank you for buying my books.
Salute June x
